COVEY Connect
"It's really fun and it helps me make new friends. I can socialise and get out more and see new people. Without the group, it would be a lot harder. I feel a lot happier about myself.”

Many young people who live in rural areas experience social isolation. A lack of transport options and nearby opportunities can leave young people disconnected from their peers and communities.
COVEY Connect is a rural befriending project. This supports young people age 8-18 living in specific rural areas throughout South Lanarkshire, including Coalburn, Douglas, Glespin, rural Clydesdale, Biggar, Symington and Skirling.
Through 1-1 and group sessions, and with the provision of travel where required, this project aims to improve accessibility to experiences, giving young people vital opportunities to develop their social skills and confidence while connecting with their local communities.
